The City of Brookings has lifted the boil water order for the Marina Heights area and all residents can use water directly from their taps.

“The state-required water tests have been conducted and verified no contamination occurred. We thank everyone for their cooperation during this time,” city officials stated.

The city issued a drinking water warning for residents of the Marina Heights area earlier this week and asked residents of that area to boil the water before using it or to use bottled water instead.

The order was issued after the loss of water pressure in the Pac View Water Reservoir on Tuesday, May 4, that serves Brookings residents on Westwood, Pacific View Drive, Marina Heights Road, Marina Heights Loop, Riviera Court and some homes on Marine Drive that could have resulted in potentially harmful bacteria in the water supply, the City of Brookings reported.
