Kids Mall

Youngsters will be choosing from over 2,200 items during the Kids Mall, including tools, kitchenware, fishing gear, jewelry, toys and games, camping equipment, electronics, holiday items, puzzles, sports equipment, and gardening supplies from 9: 30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.

Gifts galore will be displayed for sale at the annual Holiday Bazaar Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23, at the Event Center on the Beach in Gold Beach.

More than 50 vendors, including many nonprofit organizations, will be showing unique crafts, books, culinary treats, clothing, jewelry and gift items, as well as See's Candy, for sale in Docia Sweet Hall and the Curry Showcase Building.

Enjoy the spirit of the holidays among all the seasonal trimmings - from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, or from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 - decorated to the theme of "50 Years of Christmas Magic."

The popular Kid's Mall, where only children age 12 and younger may enter to purchase gifts for family and friends, will be in the Oceanview Room upstairs in Docia Hall Saturday only from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Santa will be in Docia Hall to help make wishes come true Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Gold Beach grade-school through middle-school aged children (ages 5-14) will each be able to purchase up to 10 new, or “just-like-new” holiday presents for their moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and grandparents for only 25 cents per gift.

This year, the youngsters will be choosing from over 2,200 items, including tools, kitchenware, fishing gear, jewelry, toys and games, camping equipment, electronics, holiday items, puzzles, sports equipment, gardening supplies, and more. All items will be sorted by department and displayed at a kid’s eye level... nothing higher than 5’ off the ground.

If you have a younger child (5-6 years old) who has never been to Kids Mall, or a child who would be overwhelmed by crowds, it might be better to arrive after 11 a.m., when the older group of children has thinned out a bit. Volunteer personal shoppers will be on hand to help make this an easy and fun experience for youngsters who need assistance.

Thirty-nine Gold Beach community members have volunteered to help at this year’s Kids Mall, including sorting gifts, setting up the “mall,” working as “bag ladies” (i.e., gift wrappers), cashiers, personal shoppers, wranglers to keep order in the gift wrapping lines, and greeters will be ready to answer any questions and ensure only school age shoppers pass through the doors.

Mrs. Santa Claus will be helping in the Kids Mall all day, and Santa will make a special visit from the North Pole, from 1:30-3 p.m.
