The Central Curry School District 1 is sponsoring community engagement sessions for the public to comment on the school district’s development of the comprehensive plan to reopen schools in September, according to School Superintendent Tim Wilson.

Guidance has been provided to districts by the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Education that list requirements and recommendations that need to be followed in preparation of different scenarios related to the changes with the COVID-19 pandemic, Wilson said.

The first session will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, in the Gold Beach High School Library.

State guidelines around physical distancing and other health protocols will be in place for participants. There will be a brief presentation regarding Ready Schools, Safe Learners followed by questions and comments. The group will then decide next steps regarding future meeting times and tasks.

Questions may be directed to the District Office at 541-247-2003, extension 224 or email at twilson@ccsd.k12.or.us
