Family, friends and community members flocked to Azalea Park Wednesday evening for an Azalea Middle School and Brookings-Harbor High School concert.

The schools offered pieces played by both their bands and orchestras. Nick Courtnage directed the middle school offerings while Corey Tamondong directed the high school.

The two schools combined to play the theme from Jurassic Park by composer John Williams at the end of the concert.

Brookings-Harbor School District Public Information Officer Nancy Raskauskas-Coons said the concert in the park was a great finale to the school year, “especially seeing the middle school and high school bands and orchestras performing together.”

Both bands also marched in the Azalea Festival parade this year after many years of absence from that event.

“Hats off to the band directors for getting the school musical groups out in the community,” Raskauskas-Coons said.
