Weather forecasters are calling for another “atmospheric river” of rain beginning tonight and staying strong through the weekend.
The last time an atmospheric river struck Curry County, it took out a quarter-mile of U.S. 101 at Hooskanaden Slide
12 miles north of Brookings. Crews are holding off on paving the repaired gravel road there until the rain passes, and are continually monitoring
the area for any slide movement on the hillside.
Tonight is to be cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain showers and low temperatures in the mid-40s and Thursday will have a 70 percent chance of rain with high temps in the mid-50s and getting breezier in the evening.
Friday will be rainy and windy, with winds dying down Saturday and rain showers and warmer temperatures forecast for Sunday.
