Curry County Sheriff’s deputies and Oregon State troopers have arrested 22-year-old Trever Williamson of Brookings for allegedly trying to shoot another man on Winchuck River Road Sunday afternoon.

Williamson was arrested on a charge of attempted homicide and was arraigned on two counts of reckless endangering, pointing a firearm at another, unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree criminal mischief and menacing.

According to Sheriff John Ward, the Brookings Police Department received a 911 call at 4:54 p.m. reporting a disturbance and shot fired at a Winchuck River Road residence. The caller said Williamson showed up at 22-year-old Austin Martin’s home and, during an argument, pulled a handgun and fired one shot at Martin, who was not struck by the bullet.

Williamson left the residence and the sheriff’s office was summoned to Martin’s home, where they found a bullet hole in the house. Law enforcement received a description of Williamson’s vehicle, and deputies and a state trooper found him at a home in Harbor, taking him into custody without incident.

The incident remains under investigation.
