Water customers are being asked to conserve water after Lenny Thayer of the Langlois Water District said the plant lost two intake pumps Thursday due to a power surge.
“I just now got two new pumps ordered and on the way,” he said Friday, “and we should have them here and installed tomorrow.”
The loss of the intake pumps leaves the district unable to replenish its stored water.
A conserve water notice to customers said, “The water intake is not pumping water to the plant. The district will have someone on site as soon as possible … and has enough water in storage for about 1.5 days. We are striving to get this repaired as quickly as possible.”
