The Brookings municipal pool is open to the public for the summer after the Rotary Club sponsored a week of swim lessons for third-graders.
The spring schedule, which runs until June 15, has a limited schedule. Monday through Friday, early-bird laps are 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., water aerobics is 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., an exercise program 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., laps noon to 1 p.m., public swim 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and evening lap swims 5:15 to 6:30.
Summer season features an expanded offering that begins June 16, and features early-bird, noon and evening lap swims; aerobics, swimming lessons, public and family swim times, private lessons, special programs and events. (See schedule.)
Fees for both seasons for residents start at $2.50 for youth and seniors 65 and older, and $3 for adults. Non-resident fees are $3.75 for youth and seniors and $4.50 for adults. Ten-swim resident and non-resident passes are available, too, which knock the price down to $2.60 a swim for resident adults and $3.90 for visitors.
The pool is also available to rent for private events, starting at $66.
The summer season ends Aug. 31.
Children under the age of 3 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The pool is at 1130 Ransom Ave. The pool manager can be reached by calling 541-469-4711 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
