The FBI has issued a federal warrant for the arrest of Lucas Randall DeYoung, 36, in connection of the Dec. 28 shooting of Bill Terebesi in Harbor.

The Curry County district attorney has also issued a state warrant for DeYoung for attempted murder, attempted aggravated murder, delivery of cocaine and manufacture of marijuana. The FBI has an additional charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

The FBI poster indicates DeYoung is 6-foot-1, 190 pounds with brown hair and eyes; a scar on a left finger and tattoos on his back and right shoulder. His last known address was listed in the Cape Ferrelo area.

He is known to use drugs, carry firearms and gamble, the FBI said. He has an Oregon criminal history that includes DUII and manufacture and possession of a controlled substance, all crimes that occurred in Curry County.

Authorities said DeYoung might have travelled to Washington, Virginia or Las Vegas.

Law enforcement also arrested Robert Kris Stanley, 27, of Brookings, in Shelton, Washington, in early January in connection with the assault. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one of first-degree assault and remains incarcerated at the Curry County Jail in Gold Beach. He has no other criminal history in Oregon, state records show.

Tererbesi, 46, was at his storage unit along Oceanview Drive when Stanley allegedly approached him asking for help with a flat tire, Terebesi told the Pilot. When he turned toward Stanley — who Terebesi said he doesn’t know — he allegedly shot Terebesi three times. Terebesi said he still has a bullet in him and needs surgery on his left shoulder.

Terebesi was able to drive himself to the Curry County sheriff’s substation at the Port of Brookings Harbor where he was met by law and medical personnel and transported to Sutter Hospital in Crescent City.

Terebesi is still recovering from serious wounds; a fundraising account has been established at Rogue Credit Union, where people can make donations for the medical care he still needs.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of DeYoung is asked to call the Curry County Sheriff’s Office at 541-247-3208 or Portland FBI office at 800-CALLFBI (225-5324).
