The Three Muskateer Readers and the Grand Readers claimed victories last Friday at the Kalmiopsis Battle of the Books.

Battle of the Books is a quiz game with questions about books the participants have read beforehand.

The Grand Readers won the consolation round, defeating the Book Bots for third place.

The River Dogs, who lost in the finals, claimed second, while the Three Muskateer Readers won it all and earned a trip to Medford to compete at the regional level.

Librarian Jenny Rodgers moderated the event, first explaining the rules and introducing the two teams fighting for third place: the Grand Readers vs. the Book Bots.

In the first round, Adison Hodges led the Grand Readers and beat the Book Bots, 26-18, to capture third place.

The Three Muskateer Readers, consisting of Nolan Myers-Wright, Sandy Haurand and Tyler Ledford, won the championship round, beating the River Dogs, 20-10. They will travel to Medford to compete March 17 at North Medford High School.
