The Gallery of Arts and Culture at 175 H St. in Crescent City features the show “Art Safari” benefiting the Smith River Alliance as well as the artists.
The show includes watercolor and acrylic works created by artists Rick Tolley, John Crater, Andrew Daneil, Paul Rickard and Jeff Stanley. They spent the past two months painting in plein air along the Smith River.
Also featured are new watercolor paintings from John Hewett, which were created on his painting tour of Greece.

Coast Redwoods Art Association’s Crescent Harbor Gallery at 140 Marine Way in Crescent City displays work by its December Artist of the Month — students from the College of the Redwoods Art Program thanks to instructor Greg Christensen.
The gallery hosts a Holiday Open House from 2 to 6 p.m. today (Dec. 8) featuring member artists, hors d’oeuvres and desserts.

Brian Scott Gallery at 515 Chetco Ave. in Brookings features the newest artist in the gallery, Brian Childers, with his wood-turned bowls.
December will host its Winter Wonderland show with all of the gallery’s artists contributing new work with a winter theme.

Manley Art Center
The Manley Art Center at 433 Oak St. in Brookings displays “Soul’s Captured,” a show by the Life Drawing Group.

California Redwoods Art Association’s 2nd St Gallery at 1228 Second St. in Crescent City exhibits a collection of photography from December’s Artist of the Month, Catherine Balck.
The gallery also displays members’ collections throughout the community, including: the Del Norte County Library, Sutter Coast Hospital and its Infusion Center, and Wild Rivers Community Foundation.
The next Second Sunday Hootenanny singalong is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. A Holiday Open House is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and includes refreshments and a raffle.

Art in Public Places
The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness’ (DNACA) Art in Public Places exhibit is the 27th annual Juried Multimedia Show.
This exhibit is on display through Jan. 17 when DNACA will host a public reception.
DNACA’s Art in Public Places exhibits are available for viewing in the Del Norte County Courthouse at 450 H St. in Crescent City. The courthouse is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
There will soon be an Art in Public Places exhibit in the new terminal of Crescent City airport at 150 Dale Rupert Road.
