Ellensburg Theater Company presents the final shows of Oscar Wilde play “The Importance of Being Earnest” on the Rogue Playhouse stage in Gold Beach.
The play is produced by Avi Gaston and directed by Bethy Myers for their senior project at Gold Beach High School. They are in the cast as well.
The plot centers around two young men living in England circa 1890s who fall in love with the same woman. But they encounter problems caused by an imaginary brother named Earnest. Mistaken identities follow with comedy close behind.
Aaron Axel plays the lead role of Jon Worthing, Gini Christosen is Miss Prism, Gaston is Cecily Cardew, Mark Lanier is De Chasuble, Myers is Gwendolyn Fairfax, Austin Sanders is Algernon Moncrieff, Tim Scullen in the dual roles of Lane and Merriman, and Anne Tlaker plays Lady Bracknell.
The show plays at 7 p.m. today (Feb. 17) and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students. For reservations, call 541-247-4382 or 541-247-5109.
