Brian Scott Gallery is hosting the Winter Warmer series beginning today (Jan. 12) from 4 to 6 p.m.

The featured artist is Linda Evans, an oil and pastel painter. Evans spent 35 years in the make-up artistry business working with Clinique, Chanel and Aveda as an esthetician, educator and retail business owner. In 2006, she followed her heart and took up her passion to paint, just for the joy of it.

Evans has studied oil and pastel mediums with Albert Handell, Stefan Baumann and others. She has won awards for her “Personalitrees” series and “Shifting Patterns” show sponsored by the Oregon Art Commission.

The public is invited to come meet and greet Evans, view her oil paintings and enjoy the musical talents of her husband, Craig Evans, at the keyboard.

The Winter Warmer Art Event takes the place of the Second Saturday Art Walk, which is on hiatus until April.

Brian Scott Gallery is at 515 Chetco Ave. in Brookings. For further information about this, Brown Bag Thursday or other events at the gallery, call 541-412-8687.
