An empty warehouse in Harbor once again comes to life, or death, will be swamped with chills and thrills when the Chetco Pelican Players’ 15th annual haunted house opens Friday, Oct. 19.
The warehouse, where the event has been four years running, is at the corner of U.S. 101 and East Hoffeldt Lane, across from South Coast Center.
This year’s show is titled “The Devil’s Swamp.”
Those who dare to attend will be guided through 21,000 square feet of swamp-creature peril, down endless side paths where they will find beasts, bums and brutes in some of the darkest mazes ever created. This years frightful event is easier than ever to get lost, so stay close to the guide, event organizers said.
Once again, this deranged monstrosity of a show is presented by Maven of Mayhem Claire Willard in conjunction with the theater group. Those few who survive the demented tour of insane depravity will receive treats, soft drinks and heaping helpings of Claire’s chili. Although in previous years, some missed the treats as they were spotted running out of the building in terror.
Shows are from 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28; 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, and 7 p.m. to midnight Wednesday, Oct 31.
Admission at the door is $10 per head.
Anyone interested in acting in the show may call Willard at 541-661-3239. Actors must be 16 or older.
