Tom Rigney, electric violinist, cajun fiddler, composer and leader of the American roots band Tom Rigney and Flambeau, returns to Azalea Park for an evening performance on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

The music begins at 6 p.m. at the Azalea Park bandshell in Brookings. Admission is free.

The band specializes in cajun and zydeco two-steps, blues, New Orleans grooves, ballads and waltzes. The group was voted Best Cajun/Zydeco Band of 2004 by the West Coast Blues Hall of Fame.

Rigney will be joined on stage by renowned guitarist Danny Caron (Marcia Ball, Clifton Chenier, Charles Brown), boogie queen Caroline Dahl, Steve Parks on bass and Brent Rapone on drums.

Music fans are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the concert. The snack shack, operated by the Rotary Club of Brookings-Harbor, will offer hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos and beverages.

In case of bad weather, the concert will move indoors to the nearby Kalmiopsis Elementary School at 650 Easy St.
