Trash Dogs will head back to the Rogue River mill site to tear down an abandoned camper and clean up along Old Coast Road. Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. in the Fred Meyer parking lot near the garden center in Brookings and at 10 a.m. at the U.S. Forest Service office in Gold Beach. Heavy rain will postpone the event until Feb. 24. Wear work clothes and sturdy footwear. Water, gloves and first aid will be provided.

The Gasquet American Legion will host a meet-and-greet from 2 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 1555

Sunday, Feb. 18

A beach grass pulling party will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at Tolowa Dunes State Park, 2591 Old Mill Road, Crescent City. Volunteers are advised to dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes and a hat, bring water, snacks and sunscreen. The event is canceled if it’s raining. For information, call 707-954-5253.

Brookings Emblem Club 265 serves its annual Military Mail Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brookings Elks Lodge, 800 Elk Drive. The meal includes chicken-fried steak, bacon or sausage with pancakes and eggs, juice, coffee or tea. The cost is $8 for teens and adults and $4 for children younger than 12. The Brookings-Harbor Garden Club meets at 10:30 a.m. the Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings.
