The Curry Coastal Pilot

Rose Mary Chase was welcomed into heaven into the arms of the Lord on Feb. 1, 2012.

She left many memories of her kindness, generosity, caring and the unexpectedly sly humor she delivered with a twinkle in her warm brown eyes. In leaving she created a hollow spot on earth, especially with her family, around whom her life revolved.

She worked hard most of her life, for many years in building and real estate businesses started with her husband (whom she met on a blind date andndash; when he took her home that night she told him he would marry her!), and at the same time helped him in his true calling, Christian ministry, until he was received into heaven. While they raised their family, she made each house they lived in more than just a house, but a real home. A home the children could come to even when they were grown, a home because she was the heart of it.

She was known for enjoying Football (the Cowboys), Baseball (St. Louis Cards), watching action movies starring her "boyfriends," Steven Segal and Jason Statham, reading mystery books from Earl Stanley Gardner, John Grisham, Ann Rule, and of course, the Bible. She was generous not only with her family, but also when she could with several charitable causes to assist people or animals in need. She always wanted to help more, and dreamed of winning the lottery to accomplish that.

However, she never did get that winning ticket, nor did she accomplish her dreams of writing a mystery-lawyer novel, drawing a comic strip (she was a wonderful artist as well as an accomplished pianist), or of flying to Hawaii one day "just for breakfast," but she did get her dream of living on the ocean.

It is no surprise that she was known for being a very sweet lady, for the light of the Lord's love shone brightly through her. As it says in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Most of all she would want to share with others some of her beloved Bible verses in hopes that, if they haven't already, they too will want to join her in experiencing the love of God: John 3:15-16, "That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Romans 10:9, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

So to all the many who always ask her family, "'How's Mom?" andhellip; Mom's doing great, she's walking streets of gold and laughing with Jesus andndash; right where she deserves to be.
