Barbara Mae Sharp, 68, Brookings, died Oct. 21, 2001, in Brookings.

She was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Boston to Raymond and Mae Fair.

She was raised by the Morrison family of the Boston area. She graduated from Girls Catholic School in Maiden, Mass., in 1951, and graduated as a registered nurse from Mount Auburn School of Nursing in 1955.

She married Darwin Sharp of Ottawa, Kan., on March 3, 1956. She was a longtime resident of Pacifica, Calif. She spent the last 18 months of her life by the sea in Brookings.

She was active in her church and enjoyed dancing, crafts, travel and reading. She also enjoyed the ocean and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors are her husband of Brookings; sister, Mary Doucette and brother, George Morrison of Massachusetts; children, Elizabeth Susan, of California; Kenneth Bradford of Massachusetts; Rebecca Lorraine of Florida; and Jonathan David of Texas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her brothers, Andrew, Daniel, and Charles Morrison and sister, Helen Briggs.

A memorial service was Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookings.
