GOLD BEACH - The 2002 Curry County Fair is ready to fulfill its chosen theme this year and andquot;Let the Good Times Roll.andquot;

The fair will run from July 25 through 28, but exhibitors will be entering canned goods, artwork and other exhibits on July 23. Livestock entry day is July 24.

The fair is making it even easier for non-livestock exhibitors and parade entrants this year by allowing them to sign up in Brookings on July 19.

Summer Rec Program Director Pam Callaway will hold andquot;Prepare for the Fairandquot; sign-ups at Kalmiopsis Elementary School from 4 to 7 p.m.

A warm-up event will also be held the same day from noon to 5:30 p.m. at Ray's Food Place in Brookings.

Curry County Commissioner Rachelle Schaaf, Fair Manager Clay Feeter, and Summer Rec kids will be on hand to provide fair and rodeo information at the warm-up.

They will also give out free Pepsi samples, exhibitor pamphlets, and parade entry forms.

Ray's and Pepsi are also sponsoring the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry andquot;Fun with Scienceandquot; show at the fair.

July 25 is the opening day of the fair, which will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. It is also senior citizens day and Carnival-by-the-Sea discount day. Seniors get in for $3.

The fair features one of the largest flower exhibits of any county fair in Oregon, and they are at their freshest on opening day.

The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to midnight July 26. Fairgoers can enjoy a talent show by day and a professional rodeo at night.

The fair will run from 10 a.m. to midnight July 27, and feature another professional rodeo.

July 27 will also feature the $1,000 Talent Round-up, the Junior Livestock Auction, and at 11 a.m., the fair parade through Gold Beach.

The fair will run from noon to 5 p.m. July 28, and feature a demolition derby at 1 p.m. It is also another carnival discount day.

Carnival discount coupons, which save riders 33 percent, will be on sale until July 18.

Admission will be $6 for adults, $2 for children 6-12, and free for children under six.

Four-day tickets are available for $15. Seniors get in opening day for $3. Families get in closing day for $12.

Admission includes Rodeo general seating. Reserved seating is available for $4.

Carnival ride arm bands will be available every day except July 27.
