Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC), which is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, said it is updating its accreditation in 2020 through an evaluation process that involves a visit from an accreditation team, plus public input and comments.

The public comment phase is open now through March 8, said college officials. Comments can be sent to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, 8060 165th Ave. NE, Redmond, WA 98052.

The college said it will host representatives from the commission for a formal visit April 8-10.

Officials said accreditation demonstrates that SWOCC meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality evaluated through a peer-review process.
