Four new arts classes for veterans, active military and family members are offered by the Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness. Three of the classes will be held in person in Crescent City and the fourth will be held online via Zoom. 

Due to gathering size restrictions, only nine students are allowed in each in-person class at this time. Social distancing with masks is required. 

Classes are: 

Beginning Guitar for Veterans with teaching artist Dale Morgan, via Zoom Mondays at 5 p.m. from Sept. 14 to Nov. 2. 

Beyond Beginning Guitar with teaching artist Dale Morgan offers in-person instruction Tuesdays at 4 p.m. from Sept. 15 through Nov. 3. 

Poetry Writing for Veterans, “The Art of Poetry and the Poetry of Art” with teaching artist Terri Glass. Learn how poetry and art have influenced each other in various ways. Explore differing forms of poetry, and then write your observations and experiences using these poetic techniques. All levels of writers are welcome. Classes will be held in person on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. from Sept. 9 through Oct. 28. 

Watercolor Painting for Veterans is a workshop focused on watercolor techniques with teaching artist Sara Broderick. All levels of artists are welcome. Classes will be held in person Thursdays at 4 p.m. from Sept. 10 through Oct. 29. 

All classes are free of charge and family members may participate whether or not the veteran attends. In-person classes will be held at 501 H St., Crescent City (park in the lot behind building).
