‘Beer for Breakfast’ at Rogue Playhouse

The Rogue Playhouse, at 94196 Moore St. in Gold Beach, latest production, “Beer for Breakfast,” includes actors Central Curry School District Superintendent Tim Wilson, veteran actor Michael Hall, and newcomer NBMC P.A. Derral Hawthorne.

Gigi Hodges directs this fast-paced romp through the vagaries of being middle aged. It is the second play by author Sean Grennan that Hodges has directed, the first of his being “Making God Laugh?” in 2017.

“That show was so clever and so loved by audiences that when I read “Beer for Breakfast” I knew I had to do it,” Hodges said. “It has been my privilege and my pleasure to work with the very fine actors on this show. I know you are going to love the characters they portray in these very challenging roles. “

“Beer for Breakfast” opened Friday, Aug. 30 for a 3-weekend run. Performances are at 7:30 p,m, on Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. through Sept. 15. Advance tickets are $13 at outlets. and $15 at the door. Student tickets are $8 advance and $10 at the door.

Catrine McGregor acting workshop

Film and TV Casting Director Catrine McGregor will offer an acting workshop from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Ellensburg Theater, inside the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St. McGregor is offering the workshop for $30.
