Manley Art Center - Pets Make Life Better Exhibit
433 Oak Street
The exhibit, on display from March 7th through April 1st, presents artwork from the members of Manley Art Center expressing love for pets and animals. The exhibit is a celebration of the collective joy pets and art bring to our lives!
The rest of the exhibit features a variety of art created by the Manley Art Center members. Proceeds from the sale of artwork are shared between the artists and the Manley Art Center. The Manley uses its portion to further its mission to promote, through education, the appreciation, distribution, and enjoyment of fine arts and crafts.

Learn about horticulture, the care of plants: how to shape them, where to plant them, when and how to fertilize, how to maintain them in good health as well as identifying them. Learn how to create good soil for the plants to thrive in. You may even get a chance to learn about propagation!

We invite anyone interested in gardening to come – from beginner to advanced!

Coast Guard Auxiliary: Boater Safety Course
Southwestern Oregon Community College, 96082 Lone Ranch Pkwy: 9:00am – 5:00pm
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a one day Introduction to Basic Boating Safety class. Students successfully completing the one day course will receive a certificate of completion, to use in applying for their Oregon State Marine Board Boater Safety card.
The one day course, taught by certified Coast Guard Auxiliarists. The course fee is $35 and includes the book Boat Oregon. Lunch will be provided.
All boaters who operate a motorboat over 10 horsepower (hp) and youths 12-15 years old operating a motorboat of any size are required to take an approved boating safety course and apply/carry a boater education card.

Open House for New Art
Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Avenue: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Brookings Seventh-day Adventist church invites the community to view two beautiful new pieces of art that will enrich the town for generations to come. Church Glassworks Inc. has created a large stained-glass window picturing the second coming of Jesus Christ, which has recently been installed prominently in the sanctuary. Sunday, April 9 Easter Egg Hunt
2 p.m. at Buffington Park in Gold Beach The hunt will will have five different age groups, 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. Cooked eggs as well as a lot of plastic eggs will be available for the youngsters to find. For more information, contact Randy Waters at 541-373-0259.
