Kathy Anne (Bramlett) Brace died Feb. 3, 2018. She was born Oct. 15, 1952 in San Pedro, California, to Reine and Walter Bramlett. She was baptized Nov. 2, 1952 at St. Ignatius Church in Los Angeles, California, received the Holy Sacrament of Confirmation Mar. 19, 1967 at St. Louis de Montfort Church in Orcutt, California. In 1970 Kathy graduated Regette High in Santa Maria, California.

In 1978 Kathy ventured north to Brookings. On Mar. 25, 1979, Kathy married local Scott Brace and their life would begin. In the early ’80s, Kathy started a business “First Impressions Screen/Offset Printing,” which she operated for many years. They moved to Gold Beach in 1989 and operated her business out of the old Thelin Building where they lived and ran screen printing and finally opened a coffee shop named Soakers.

In 2001, they sold the building and went to work on the old Captain’s Table, soon to be called the Cape Café, where she was the driving force and operated off and on until the middle of 2017.

Kathy loved the South Coast and all the friends and family who supported her. Her younger brother said, “She was the light when she came into the room, and it was contagious.” A sweet soul has left us, but we know God loves honest people and smiles as he watches Kathy rearrange Heaven!

Kathy has left behind her husband Scott of Gold Beach, all of his family she loved so much, her mother Reine, sister Joanne, brother Jim of Brookings, brother Peter in Israel, niece Melissa and her family, nephew Josh of Brookings, an aunt and cousins of West Seattle. She also leaves behind great friends Carla Erb of Tucson, Arizona, Lori and Marvin Traylor of Santa Maria, Califorina, Don and Linda Moss of Post Falls, Idaho, and Moe and Kat Molnar of Wisconsin.

Kathy would thank you all for being there at different times in her life; helping and laughing through it all …we will miss her memories. A special thank you to Laura Greathead and Lisa Christie for being there to the end; you both helped a “beautiful soul” travel to her final resting place, where she will be waiting for us all! Services to be announced at a later date.
