Bob Sheppard Jr. passed away Nov. 4, 2017, in San Francisco, California, of a head injury caused by an accident.

He was born April 22, 1940, in Eureka, California, to Robert Sheppard Sr. and Alfreda Bresler Sheppard.

Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator and later as a tower crane operator for approximately 35 years. He worked in numerous California cities, primarily in the San Francisco Bay area and in Nevada.

He moved from Pacifica, California, to Brookings in 2005. He met Cindy Thomas at her business, the Health Shop, in 2007. He became a partner in the business. They were married in 2008 at Lone Ranch Beach.

Bob was a kind, loving and generous man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding Harleys, fishing, playing cribbage and fixing things. He could fix almost anything.

Survivors include his wife Cindy; children Ted Sheppard (Janet), Robert Sheppard III, Michael Sheppard (Kylie), daughter Barbara Aydt (Jason) and brother Raymond Sheppard of Medford.

He was preceded in death by his sister Cecelia Pries and son James Sheppard.

A celebration of Bob’s life is planned for this spring at the beach; the date will be announced in the Pilot.
