Lucas Randall DeYoung, born 1981, of the Cape Ferrelo area, has been extradited from Nevada for arraignment on two charges of attempting to commit murder and one each of delivery of cocaine and manufacturing a marijuana item. DeYoung is believed to be involved in an incident in which another man was shot three times in Harbor late last year.
John Wesley Nielsen, born 1949, of Medford, who entered Bi-Mart in Brookings, asked to see a rifle, loaded it with ammunition he brought with him and pointed it at a clerk, pleaded guilty to pointing a firearm at another person. He was sentenced to 24 months’ probation, 90 days in jail with credit for time served, ordered to have no contact with Chetco Trader or Bi-mart, to enroll in a mental health program and was fined $600. Two charges of recklessly endangering other people and one of menacing were dismissed.
Phillip Ward Frost, born 1950, of Brookings, was arraigned on charges of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, first- and second-degree sexual abuse and second-degree kidnapping.
Brian Joseph Gallardo, born 1988, of Harbor, pleaded guilty to recklessly endangering highway workers and was fined $400.
John Gerald King, born 1965, of Grants Pass, had his diverted probation terminated in a DUII conviction and was sentenced to 24 months’ probation, a one-year license suspension, 48 hours in jail, and was ordered to undergo an alcohol treatment program and pay a $2,355 fine.
Taylor Briane Schaefer, born 1993, of Brookings, pleaded guilty to third-degree theft and was sentenced to two years’ probation, fined $600 and ordered to pay $10 restitution to Grocery Outlet.
Jonathan Dean Wilber, born 1991, of Harbor, was arraigned on charges of third-degree assault and strangulation and released.
J. Calvin Sperry Harding, born 1999, of Harbor, was arraigned on charges of second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree theft.
Wyatt Joseph Sieg, born 1996, of Grants Pass, had a charge of third-degree theft dismissed.
