The Oregon State Police and the Curry County Major Crimes Team is still looking for 29-year-old Brian Anthony Widby, who was allegedly involved in an officer-involved shooting on 80 Acres Road and Anthony Drive south of Gold Beach Oct. 29.
Preliminary information from investigators indicates that at about 11 that night, a Gold Beach Police Department officer was pursuing a vehicle reported as stolen near 80 Acres Road. During the incident, the officer fired his weapon. However, the pursuit resumed and was joined by deputies from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.
It is unknown if the suspect was injured as he could not be located.
The vehicle Widby was allegedly driving was a black 2002 Mitsubishi with California license plates DP429RE. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts or that of the car are asked to call Oregon State Police dispatch at 541-440-3333.
