The Brookings-Harbor High School dance team took second place in the 4A division at the Judge Affiliated Sprague Competition in Salem Saturday.

Out of the seven teams in the division, only Astoria – constantly among the top teams in the state – beat out the Bruins.

The event was put on by judges, and the captains and coaches of each team had the opportunity to meet with judges between rounds.

"Once again, our highest scores were in choreography, which Co-captain Hannah Fallert gets of the credit for," Coach Tiffany Eldridge said. "We are just doing interesting, original stuff and apparently the judges appreciate it and are taking notice."

The Bear Delights' annual dance camp begins today (Feb. 27) and culminates in a public performance at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym on Saturday, March 1.

The dance team will also be competing in the OSAA Dance/Drill State Championships on March 14 in Portland.
