In the fairy tale story, retold by Vera Morris, with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur,  the royal troubadour (Dilan Cuthbertson) sings about a young woman who is living a life of hardship and woe, yet still dreams of a brighter future.

In this story, the audience will meet Cinderella (Amaya Eckersley), who works hard in the home of her cruel stepmother (Bj Farris) and her silly stepsisters, Brunhilda and Cleopatra, (Courtney Gage and Sierra Rose). An announcement of a grand ball sets the household aflutter and the rude stepsisters, thinking themselves the most beautiful, think the prince (Dylan Panter) will marry them. Of course, the handsome prince spends most of the evening at a palace ball trying to escape from them.

The story is age-old, but audiences will meet new characters in this fresh adaptation — a brave mouse, (Carley Gage) a hesitant cat (Michaela Dingle) and the pumpkinhead, (Kyla MacLaughlin) who changes into a coach. The fairy godmother (Cherita Wilson) has her hands full tutoring an apprentice (Jenna Martini) but still makes time for Cinderella.

Additional characters include the queen (Colleen Harrison), Mistress Haughty (Teri McGregor), Lady Ursula-Ursula (Michelle Kaufman), Lady Blossom (Charis Abblitt), Lady Vine (Madi Connolly), lieutenant (Brooke Raiter), captain and troubadour (Dilan Cuthbertson), Lady Tisha (Shawntisha Bailey), Lady Marea (Ca’Mare’a Freeman), and Sir Alexander (Alex Pridgen).

Also attending the grand ball are the party guests, dancers and chorus members Megan Hulen, Hailey Failor, Alia Graves, Suzanne Graves, and Kelsie Stumpenhaus.

“Cinderella’s Glass Slipper” is directed by Dori Randall, costumed by Bj Farris and Dori Randall, and sets designed by Lynette McPherson.
