Bruin Hall of Fame applicants sought

Brookings-Harbor High School is accepting applications for next year’s BHHS Hall of Fame class. Applications can be picked up at the BHHS front office or can be mailed/emailed upon request. BHHS Baseball/Softball games rained out

Due to Thursday and Friday’s rainstorms, the Bruin baseball doubleheader against Siuslaw at BHHS been cancelled. No word yet available as to when the games will be rescheduled.

The Bruins are 2-4 in their past six games and have an 11-8 overall record, 7-6 in the Far West league. They are tied with the Douglas Trojans for third place in league.

The Lady Bruins softball team’s doubleheader at Siuslaw High School has also been cancelled due to rain. The games have been rescheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Monday, May 12.

BHHS is 3-3 in their past six games and sport a 15-5 overall record. Their 9-4 league record has them alone in third place, one game behind Douglas with five games remaining on the schedule.

Bruin Golf

The BHHS golf team heads to Bandon on Monday to compete in the Far West League District Meet at Bandon Crossings Golf Course beginning at 9 a.m. The top five finishers for both boys and girls qualify for the 4A State Championships May 19-20 at the Eagle Crest Golf  Course in Redmond.

 

Gold Beach Briefs

Panther games at Bandon rescheduled

Last Thursday’s Gold Beach vs. Bandon baseball and softball games that were cancelled due to rain have been rescheduled. Both teams will travel to Bandon to make up the games beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 12.

The baseball team has been red hot, outscoring their previous three opponents by a score of 41-1. They head into Monday’s game with a 14-5, 6-0 record and are one game back of Bonanza in the 2A-Special District 4 League.

The Panther softball team is 12-6, 8-0 in the 2A-SD4 league, also just one game behind the Bonanza Antlers for the league lead with seven games remaining on their schedule.
