Dominic G. “Pastor Dom” Petrucelli

Oct. 27, 1942-Jan. 18, 2014

Dominic G. “Pastor Dom” Petrucelli, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 18, 2014.

Dom was born Oct. 27, 1942, in California.

In 1965, he married Marrian.

They moved to Brookings from the San Joaquin Valley in 2003.

Dom was called to the ministry in 2006 and was the founding and current pastor of Safe Harbor Christian Fellowship in Harbor. He also, for the last few years, contributed to the weekly Faith Forum in the Curry Coastal Pilot.

Dom was an excellent writer and storyteller. He was very proud to be the last winner of the Hathaway Jones Tall Tale Award in the Gold Beach competition. His presence in the community, whether from his Harbor pulpit or solving the world’s problems over coffee at Fred Meyer, will be missed greatly.

Survivors include Marrian, his wife of 48 years, of Brookings; children Gina Cate and her husband Vince, David Petrucelli, Stephen Petrucelli and his wife Sarah; grandchildren Noah Warren, Wayne Cate, Sarah Cate, Andrew Seale, Adolfo Melendez and Gina Melendez; mother Louise Petrucelli; brother Sal Petrucelli and his wife Donna; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Greg and Yumi Cook.

Dom was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial contributions may be made to Safe Harbor Christian Fellowship, 1500 PMB 206, Brookings, OR 97415 or to Outreach Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 993, Brookings, OR 97415.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Safe Harbor Christian Fellowship, 15786 Highway 101 South, in Harbor. A reception will follow there.
