Tuesday, Aug. 13 

Dispute/fight, 12:44 a.m.: 600 block of Old County Road. 

Fire, 4:21 a.m.: Harbor Fire Department responded to 97900 block of Shopping Center Avenue. 

Criminal trespass, 7:24 a.m.: 800 block of Chetco Point Terrace. 

Found property, 8:38 a.m.: 16100 block of Highway 101. 

Burglary, 9 a.m.: 300 block of Memory Lane. 

Safety/traffic hazard, 12:11 a.m.: Highway 101 and North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Fire, 12:45 p.m.: Brookings Fire unit responded to 400 block of Redwood Street. 

Found property, 3:07 p.m.: 400 block of First Street. 

Burglary, 3:33 p.m.: 97900 block of Hall Way. 

Fire, 5:12 p.m.: Brookings Fire unit responded to 17300 block of Zia Court. 

Theft, 7:46 p.m.: 600 block of Memory Lane. 

Wednesday, Aug. 14 

Driving while suspended, 12:37 a.m.: Cited for driving while suspended — misdemeanor; verbal warn: defective license plate light; vehicle was parked at the corner of Chetco Avenue and Hillside Drive; Chetco Avenue and Center Street.  

Dispute/fight, 9:14 a.m.: Officers responded to a family dispute. Adults separated voluntarily for the night; 500 block of Fir Street. 

Bike/skateboard complaint, 10:56 a.m.: Officer warned a male juvenile that if he was caught in the skate park again he would be cited for trespassing; 1100 block of Ransom Avenue. 

Dispute/fight, 11:03 a.m.: Fight occurring in Smith River; call transferred to Del Norte Sheriff’s Office; South Indian Road. 

Found property, 11:43 a.m.: Trailer plate found at the port docks was turned over to Sheriff’s Office as found property; port dock, 16400 block of Lower Harbor Road. 

Fire, 1:17 p.m.: Brookings Fire personnel responded to a fire alarm at local care facility; this was a false alarm; Park Avenue. 

Misuse of 911, 1:19 p.m.: Resident of local care facility called 911 for assistance dialing a telephone number; staff was notified of her request for assistance; 98000 block of Gerlach Lane. 

Forgery/fraud/bad check, 2:29 p.m.: Officer assisted citizen with a fraud report; 800 block of Pioneer Road. 

Public indecency, 3:25 p.m.: Caller reporting public indecency incident up Chetco River, was transferred to county dispatch; first bridge, North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Assault, 4:22 p.m.: Female reporting her boyfriend had struck her in the face at her residence in Harbor. Call was transferred to Sheriff’s Office dispatch; 97800 block of Court Street. 

Animal complaint, 5:06 p.m.: Citizen reported her orange/black shepherd-pit-bull mix dog with white saddle mark was lost, last seen on south side of Oceanview Drive. 

Parking violation, 5:20 p.m.: Officer contacted the driver of a vehicle which had parked in the turn lane; the car was moved; 600 block of Pioneer Road. 

Loud noise, 6:05 p.m.: Officer responded to a report of loud music and contacted a male who had been playing his guitar with the door open. He agreed to stop; 500 block of Pine Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:13 p.m.: Group of juveniles reported to be hanging out behind Brookings-Harbor High School (BHHS) cafeteria; officer was unable to locate them; Near BHHS cafeteria and parking lot. 

Theft, 9:40 p.m.: Officer responded to Fred Meyer for a shoplifter. Case taken for Theft 3 and Possession of Controlled Substance Marijuana, less than 1 ounce; 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:44 p.m.: Suspicious circumstances at a vacation rental in the Pistol River area; information was relayed to county dispatch; Burnt Hill Road. 

Brookings Police were kept busy assisting the public, making traffic stops and issuing warnings and citations.

Thursday, Aug. 15 

Two vehicle non-injury vehicle accident, 8:37 a.m., McDonald’s parking lot. 

Suspicious conditions, 1:10 p.m., a male transient wearing a purple shirt and tan shorts was tossing rocks into the air near the corner of Railroad Street and Memory Lane; he was gone when police arrived.

Loud noise, 6:29 p.m., Brookings police officer responded to the complain of loud music on Rowland Street. The resident turned the music off prior to the officer’s arrival.

Dispute, 9:46 p.m., Brookings police officers responded to a fight between a male and female transient at a business in the 500 block of Chetco Avenue. The male was arrested for disorderly conduct.
