Friday, July 5 

Dispute/fight, 12:22 a.m.: A citizen reported the could hear a loud disturbance at a neighbor’s house on Oceanview Drive. 

Intoxicated subject, 12:54 a.m.: Port of Brookings Harbor. 

Dispute/fight, 1:55 a.m.: East Harris Heights. 

Dispute/fight, 3:10 a.m.: A camper upriver advised he was assaulted by another camper.  

Criminal mischief, 8:31 a.m.: 700 block of Easy Street. 

Found property, 11:08 a.m.: 500 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Assault, 12:51 a.m.: 900 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Theft, 1:20 p.m.: The theft of string trimmer of a yard in the 800 block of Kevin Place was reported. 

Fire, 2:03 a.m.: Bark in flower bed was reportedly on fire at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Fir Street. 

Theft , 3:21 p.m.: The theft of a video game from residence in the 700 block of First Street was reported. 

Hazard, 5:10 p.m.: A parked vehicle was partially in the lane of traffic on North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Animal complaint, 6:51 p.m.: A caller was concerned about a puppy in a car with no open windows in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Assault, 7:35 p.m.: A family dispute was reported in the 1000 block of Fifield Street. 

Dispute/fight, 7:53 p.m.:  An argument between family members in car in parking lot was reported in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Lost property, 8:59 p.m.: A lost purse was reported in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Hazard, 9:02 p.m.: A propane gas leak at a business in the 16100 block of Lower Harbor Road was taken care of by Harbor Fire and Ferrellgas. 

Dispute/fight, 9:14 p.m.: A landlord/tenant dispute over an eviction was reported in the 200 block of Cypress Street. 

Illegal fireworks, 9:44 p.m.: Several calls were received complaining about loud fireworks on Oceanview Drive. 

Fire, 9:54 p.m.: A large driftwood fire at Harris Beach was attended by Brookings Fire Department and Coos Forest Patrol. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:08 p.m.: People in a suspicious vehicle in a driveway in the 900 block of Old County Road may have been throwing fireworks. 

Saturday, July 6 

Threats, 9:09 a.m.: A dispute between neighbors in the 800 block of Limbaugh Way will be handled civilly.

Animal complaint, 11:31 a.m.: A yellow Lab on the loose in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue appeared to be looking for its owner.  

Child neglect, 12:12 p.m.: 15700 block of Oceanview Drive. 

Theft, 1:45 p.m.: The report of a burglary of a  residence near Lucky 7 Casino was reported. The call was transferred to Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office. 

Suspicious conditions, 2:09 p.m.: Winchuck River Road and Highway 101. 

Reckless driving, 3:12 p.m.: A southbound vehicle in the 16200 block of Highway 101 was reported to be driven recklessly. 

DUII, 5:18 p.m.: A blue pickup reported to be swerving all over the road on North Bank Chetco River Road was stopped by an officer for failing to maintain lane of travel. The driver was arrested for DUII and later released to a responsible, sober relative. 

Possession of drugs, 9:11 p.m.: Police stopped a vehicle when the driver failured to signal for a lane merge at Chetco Avenue and Easy Street. Both the driver and passenger were found in possession of marijuana and cited. 

Animal complaint, 10:57 p.m.: A dog continually barking at a residence in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue was reported by two callers. An officer found a small black and white terrier-type dog tied outside the front of the house with water, but no food. He was unable to get the occupant to respond to the front door. 

Found property, 11:29 p.m.: A citizen found two identification cards and a debit card in the 400 block of Hillside Avenue. 

Sunday, July 7 

Lost subject, 8:11 a.m.: A citizen brought a lost adult to the police department. Her daughter came and picked her up. 

Animal complaint, 9:54 a.m.: A dispute was reported between neighbors about barking dogs in the 96400 block of Oceanside Drive. 

Assist outside agency, 12:52 p.m.: A boater whose engine died while leaving Port of Brookings Harbor called 911. The call was transferred to U.S. Coast Guard for assistance. 

Panhandling, 12:58 p.m.: Two adult females panhandling at Chetco Avenue and Fifth Street were advised of a city ordinance. 

Hazard, 3:58 p.m.: Two 911 calls reporting a reckless driver on South Bank Chetco River Road resulted in the female driver being arrested by a Curry County deputy for DUII. 

Hazard, 4:06 p.m.: 600 block of Old County Road. 

Lost property, 6:48 p.m.: A bicyclist reported losing his wallet somewhere between Harris Beach and the state line. 

Assist public, 7:10 p.m.: A  citizen requested medical help for his friend in rural Minnesota. Dispatch was able to confirm with a Minnesota agency that they were out with the person needing assistance, and the caller was advised.

Suspicious conditions, 9:06 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle investigation resulted in  K-9 Charger alerting police of methamphetamine. An adult male was arrested and transported to Curry County Jail. 

Dispute/fight, 9:57 p.m.: A neighbor reported a loud dispute in the 200 block of Cypress Street. An adult male was arrested for disorderly conduct and menacing and transported to Curry County Jail. 

Illegal fireworks, 10:11 p.m.: Multiple 911 calls reported fireworks and/or gunshots heard in the Floral Hill Drive area. Officers observed fireworks displays in the Floral Hill, Mill Beach, Rowland Lane and Arnold Lane areas. It was believed that these were all related due to timing. No gunshots were heard by police. 

Monday, July 8 

Unauthorized use of a vehicle, 6:31 a.m.: A caller in the 16800 block of Highway 101 in Smith River reported that his vehicle had been stolen from his residence during the night. The call was transferred to California Highway Patrol. 

Hazard: Highway 101 and Hoffeldt lane. 

Dispute/fight, 2:56 p.m.: A dispute was not as reported in the 500 block of Fir Street. 

Driving complaint, 4:52 p.m.: An aggressive driver forced another driver off road on Highway 101 northbound from California. 

Non-injury vehicle accident 5:28 p.m.: An officer assisted the public regarding a fender bender from last Saturday that happened in the 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Threats, 5:34 p.m.: 900 block of Midland Way. 

Dispute/fight, 10:14 p.m.: 800 block of Ransom Avenue. 

Animal complaint, 10:41 p.m.: An officer left a card on the door of a residence regarding a barking dog complaint at the west end of Rowland Lane.
