Brookings

The second annual Funky Foot Race and Kids Boardwalk Dash events start at the Port of Brookings Harbor boardwalk at 8 a.m.

The second annual Make a Wish Foundation Car Show is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Port of Brookings Harbor near the chamber office on Lower Harbor Road.

The third annual Fourth of July BBQ and Field Day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Azalea Park. The event is hosted by the Friends of the Brookings-Harbor Aquatic Center. The cost of the barbecue is $8 for general, $6 for seniors and $4 for children younger than 12. Tickets are available at Chetco Pharmacy and Gifts, A Wild Bird and Backyard General Store and online at http://www.fbhac.org.

The sixth annual Fourth of July Children’s Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St. The parade route is the streets surrounding the library.

The 16th annual Chili Cookoff will begin at noon with tasting beginning at 1 p.m. at the Port of Brookings Harbor boardwalk. The cost to taste chili and vote for People’s Choice Award is $5. Chili cooks may enter until 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, by calling 541-661-3486.

Fireworks over Sporthaven Beach in Harbor begin at dusk.

Crescent City

Fourth of July is one of the biggest community events of the year. The day starts with a downtown parade  at 10 a.m.; vendors and a series of events at Beachfront Park from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; an Art Festival at the Cultural Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., finishing with fireworks over South Beach at dusk.

The Del Norte Historical Society Museum’s 32nd annual Homemade Pie and Ice Cream Social will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at 577 H St.

Gold Beach

The annual Party at the Port offers live music, food and games at the Port of Gold Beach. The day finishes with fireworks over the Rogue River at dusk.
