Friday, June 21 

Missing person, 9:24 a.m.: Court Street. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 1:19 p.m.: Boat Basin and Lower Harbor roads. 

Assault, 2:11 p.m.: 14300 block of Miranda Lane. 

Threats, 2:31 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street.  

Fire, 5:51 p.m.: An over-cooked dinner was reported in the 17400 block of Canyon Drive. 

Suspicious conditions, 6:43 p.m.: 800 block of Pioneer Street. 

Found property, 7:51 p.m.: 800 block of Elk Drive. 

Animal complaint, 8:09 p.m.: A report was received about a dog at large that bit a juvenile on the arm in the 500 block of Fir Street. Medical assistance was declined. The dog was located, as well as the owner, and the owner was issued a citation. The dog had current license and rabies tags. 

Juvenile problem, 11:47 p.m.: A complaint was received regarding several juveniles hanging out at KidTown near the swings. Ongoing issue. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate. 

Saturday, June 22 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 1:15 a.m.: A single vehicle went over the embankment approximately 5 miles up South Bank Chetco River Road. Oregon State Police, Harbor Fire and Cal-Ore Life Flight responded. Brookings Fire checked the North Bank area. The driver and occupants declined medical assistance; however, OSP arrested the driver for DUII. 

Suspicious conditions, 2:11 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious man near Thomas Creek Bridge attempting to wave down passing cars. 

Missing person, 4:36 a.m.: A suspicious circumstances call resulted in locating an confused, elderly man in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue who was listed as a missing person out of Bend. 

Lost property, 12:39 p.m.: 600 block of Railroad Street. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 1:12 p.m.: A driver was concerned his vehicle may go into the river following a single-vehicle accident. 

Misuse of 911, 2:30 p.m.: Multiple 911 hang-up calls had been received from a pay phone located at Loeb State Park. OSP checked the area, but was unable to locate anything suspicious — the intermittent calls continued throughout the day. The park host was contacted and eventually found a group of children who were playing near the pay phone. They admitted to making the calls and were counseled by the host on the importance of not calling 911 unless they needed help from the police, firefighters or medical personnel. The children understood and agreed never to call again unless they have an emergency. 

Found property, 2:47 p.m.: A man’s 2009 class ring with gems and a first name engraved on it was found in the 400 block of Mill Beach Road and turned in to Brookings Police Department. It was placed in the lost and found drawer. 

Dispute/fight, 2:58 p.m.: A fight between two transients was reported in the 16200 block of Highway 101. 

Dispute/fight, 3:48 p.m.: A domestic verbal dispute between two intoxicated subjects was reported in the 500 block of Pine Street. Both parties involved agreed to separate for the night.  

Theft, 5:06 p.m.: A citation was issued to a man for theft in the 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Harassment, 7:05 p.m.: A man was issued a criminal citation for harassment in the 800 block of Elk Drive. 

Warrant  service,  7:22 p.m.: A woman in the 800 block of Ransom Avenue was arrested on a local warrant. She was transported and lodged in the Curry County Jail. 

Fire, 8 p.m.: A caller in the 7100 block of Vista Ridge Road reported an open pile that was burning the previous night that had sparks blowing everywhere. The caller was advised to call back when any issues are occurring. 

Sunday, June 23

Criminal trespass, 1:15 a.m.: Two callers  reported a man who was told to never return to the 97900 block of Hall Way was on the property. 

Theft, 10:03 a.m.: 400 block of Fern Avenue. 

Hazard, 12:43 p.m.: Ransom Avenue and Highway 101. 

Dispute/fight, 1:39 p.m.: 1600 block of Highway 101. 

Dispute/fight, 3:54 p.m.: Highway 101 rest area. 

Violation of restraining order, 4:45 p.m.: 500 block of Fir Street. 

Monday, June 24 

Alarm, 3:34 a.m.: A loud external alarm at a business in the 600 block of Railroad Street was reported. An officer and key holder checked the interior and found nothing amiss. The alarm was reset and business owner was advised of the possibility of future citations for his noise ordinance violation. 

Tree down, 5:13 a.m.: A tree was reported blocking three quarters of both travel lanes on North Bank Chetco River Road near Donalds Road. 

Transient information 7:51 a.m.: A male transient sleeping in the doorway of a business in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue was ordered never to return. 

Driving complaint, 3:34 p.m.: A citizen reported a vehicle at Fred Meyer gas station with a small unrestrained child riding in the front seat. 

Forgery/fraud/bad check, 4:12 p.m.: A credit card fraud attempt by an unknown person on a resident in the 500 block of Fir Street was reported. 

Criminal trespass, 8:22 p.m.: 97800 block of Crestline Loop. 

Building check, 9:24 p.m.: An officer checked two unoccupied vehicles parked at Azalea Park after hours. No people were in our around the cars.
