Friday, March 29 

Theft, 11:30 a.m.: Mill Beach Road. 

Dispute/fight, 12:14 p.m.: 200 block of Lilac Lane. 

Illegal fireworks, 12:47 p.m.: Before 300 block of Del Norte Lane. 

Dispute/fight, 7:05 p.m.: 97700 block of South Bank Chetco River Road. 

Warrant service, 7:55 p.m.: Intoxicated men in the 500 block of Chetco Avenue were attempting to provoke a physical fight with a landlord. One man was cited and released on Jackson County warrant. 

Criminal mischief, 7:58 p.m.: A business owner in the 300 block of Fifth Street reported criminal mischief and damage to display stands done by a local transient. An officer located the man and cited and released him on both local charges and a warrant out of Salem. The man was also listed as a missing person out of Eureka, Calif.  

Misuse of 911, 10:11 p.m.: A citizen test-called 911 to see if cell phone worked without a phone service provider. The caller was advised that cell phones without service providers will still call 911 for emergency situations. 

Unknown problem, 11:10 p.m.: A caller could hear a verbal dispute in the Matot Street area, but the exact location was unknown. Officers checked the area and unable to find any disputes. 

Violation of restraining order, 11:11 p.m.: One man was arrested for assault and violation of a restraining order in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Dispute/fight, 11:44 p.m.: A domestic dispute between two men was reported in the 600 block of Ransom Avenue. 

Saturday, March 29

Dispute/fight, 12:09,: Winchuck River Road. 

Criminal mischief, 12:22 a.m.: Highway 101 and Benham Lane. 

Injury vehicle accident, 1:10 p.m.: 600 block of Chetco Avenue.

Vehicle repossessed, 5:48 p.m.: 98000 block of Gerlach Lane. 


The department executed several traffic stops, mostly speed warnings. 

Sunday, March 31 

 Suspicious conditions, 12:12 p.m.: 900 block of Midland Way. 

Child found, 12:38 p.m.: A lIttle boy found in the county was returned to his grandparents at East Hoffeldt and Anderson lanes. 

Dispute/fight, 3:31 p.m.: 700 block of First Street. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 7:14 p.m.: Parties involved in a fender bender in a parking lot in the 500 block of Chetco Avenue exchanged information. 

Monday, April 1 

Disorderly conduct, 1:06 a.m.: Intoxicated people were being loud in the 600 block of Fifth Street. A woman was arrested for disorderly conduct; 600 block of  Fifth Street. 

Animal complaint, 10:34 a.m.: An officer warned a citizen against animal abuse in the 200 block of Matot Street. 

Dispute/fight, 10:57 a.m.: A 911 call was transferred to the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office for a report of a dispute in progress in Smith River. 

Forgery/fraud/bad check, 11:55 a.m.: An officer assisted a citizen with forgery report in the 500 block of Chetco Lane. 

Theft, 3:41 p.m.: A detective assisted a citizen with a theft report in the 98100 block of Daina Lane. 

Driving while suspended, 3:18 p.m.: A license was confiscated from a driver at Pacific Avenue and Oak Street who failed to return it to the Department of Motor Vehicles. 

Hit and run, 5:55 p.m.: Brookings. 

DUII, 6:34 p.m.: A intoxicated person denied alcohol at bar in the 16300 block of Lower Harbor Road drove off. He was located and arrested for DUII. 

Suspicious conditions, 8:35 p.m.: A caller from Coos Bay was trying to get detailed information from dispatch about a Brookings resident. Dispatch contacted the resident so that she could contact the caller if she chose to do so.


The department  also dealt with civil problems, traffic stops, and assisted a citizen with a report.
