Rich Moore and Mollie O’Brien will perform in concert in Pistol River.

PISTOL RIVER — The Pistol River Concert Association presents Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road.

Mollie has performed and recorded with modern acoustic musicians including Chris Thile, Jerry Douglas, Todd Phillips, Nina Gerber and many more. Now Mollie is unleashing her secret weapon — her husband and guitarist Rich Moore.

Throughout their married lives, whenever Mollie toured, she’d leave Rich and the children at home. Rich would run the house, feed the children and work a day job. Somehow, during all that time he managed to get up early in the mornings and practice guitar and bass and get ready for the next local gig — playing bass for songwriter Celeste Krenz or Pete Wernick, or backing up Tom Paxton on guitar.

Now that the children are grown, Rich and Mollie are out on their own on tour.

Tickets are $15 and available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings and at Gold Beach Books in Gold Beach. Tickets may also be reserved online at http://www.pistolriver.com or by calling 541-247-2848.
