Tuesday, Jan. 22

Illegal camping, 7:48 a.m.: An umbrella mistaken for tent in the 200 block of Marine Drive. 

Disorderly conduct, 11:21 a.m.: Port of Brookings Harbor personnel asked for assistance in removing an unruly subject. 

Dispute/fight, 2:23 p.m.: 98100 block of West Benham Lane. 

Suspicious conditions, 2:50 p.m.: 800 block of Elk Drive. 

Bake/skateboard complaint, 4:34 p.m.: A citizen reported a juvenile on a motorized scooter jetted out in front of her, and was concerned for his safety. An officer located five juveniles and advised them of safety concern. All were wearing helmets. 

Water problem, 8:05 p.m.: Wharf Street and Cove Road. 

Lost property, 9:22 p.m.: 16300 block of Lower Harbor Road. 

Wednesday, Jan. 23

Fire,  7:11 a.m.: Cape Ferrelo Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 19900 block of Whaleshead Road. The resident was able to extinguish the fire before the fire department arrived. 

Forgery/fraud/bad check, 9:18 a.m.: Check fraud reported by a resident in the 600 block of Railroad Street. The incident occurred out of state. The caller was referred to the proper agency to handle the case and was advised to call back if further assistance was needed. 

Hazard, 10:14 a.m.: An officer located a line hanging down at Arnold Lane and Fifield Street. The line appeared to be a cable line, Coos Curry Electric Cooperative confirmed it was Charter’s line. 

Suspicious conditions, 1:20 p.m.: A caller was concerned about a vehicle moving slowly on Ridgeway Street, possibly watching houses. The vehicle was located and the driver advised he was looking at vacant lots. 

Dispute//fight, 2:52 p.m.: Police received a call about a man in a truck who was following and yelling at a transient in the 16200 block Highway 101. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:07 p.m.: A citizen reported lights were flashing on and off in the 200 block of Wharf Street. The problem had stopped when police arrived. 

Unauthorized use of a vehicle, 9:45 p.m.: A citizen in the 800 block of Railroad Street reported his vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was located later in the night by Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office. The operator of the vehicle ran away on foot. 

Hit and run, 11:08 p.m.: A caller reported a hit and run accident and believed the vehicle was still in the area. The vehicle was located parked at a residence in the 900 block of Pioneer Lane. The driver was arrested for hit and run and DUII, and was lodged at Curry County Jail.

Thursday, Jan. 24

Assist public, 12:25 p.m.: A man had fallen out of his wheelchair at Highway 101 and Zimmerman Lane. Citizens were able to help the man and no other assistance was needed.

Assist public, 1:01 p.m.: A child locked himself in a bedroom and the grandmother needed assistance getting the door unlocked. Officers responded to the 800 block of Third Street and rendered assistance.

Bike/skateboard complaint, 4:10 p.m.: Two males were warned for riding their bicycles in the skate bowl.
