Law enforcement officials are looking for two Port Orford men in connection with a near-death beating at Paradise Point State Park north of that city Jan. 11.

The 49-year-old victim was apparently lured to the location, where Glenn Allen Burkhow Jr., 32, and Allen Douglas Vonnevin, 33, allegedly assaulted him with a baseball bat and tossed his body over the ocean cliff. The men were accompanied by a woman who is not believed to have been actively involved in the assault.

According to Oregon State Police Sgt. Andy Kenyon, the man was found at 2:30 a.m. by people walking along the beach, who called 911.

Officers from Curry County Sheriff’s Office and the Brookings and Port Orford police departments responded to the scene along with medical personnel. The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to a local hospital and then flown by helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield. His injuries are non-life-threatening.

Anyone with information regarding the men’s whereabouts is asked to call Curry County 911 or OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at 541-776-6111.
