Sierra Ensemble in Brookings

Friends of Music continues its 2012-13 performance series when it presents the Sierra Ensemble at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6.

The Sierra Ensemble features violin, horn and piano. The performance will be at the Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Ave.


The trio was founded in 1998 by horn player Janis Lieberman and two fellow Bay Area musicians. Pianist Marc Steiner joined the group in 2002, and violinist Anita Felix in 2008.

They have toured the East Coast and recently performed in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of the “San Francisco-Istanbul Musical Bridge.” project. 

The members of trio are active performers and music educators who bring chamber music to house concerts, schools and community centers.
