Tuesday, Dec. 11

Burglary, 2:22 a.m.: A detective contacted two women on Pioneer Road, one carrying a baseball bat, which she had brought outside because she had been awakened by the sound of someone walking across her roof. Officers checked the interior with the resident and found nothing damaged or missing and no one inside. 

Criminal trespass, 3:32 a.m.: A transient male adult was removed from Brookings Circle K by officers. He plans to leave the area via bus later in the morning. 

Criminal mischief, 3:49 a.m.: An officer responded to a call about a shopping cart on fire near Fred Meyer. He was able to put the fire out with his vehicle’s fire extinguisher, and returned the slightly damaged cart to the store manager. 

Lost property, 9:12 a.m.: A citizen lost LG TracFone on Highway 101 in Harbor. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 9:56 a.m.: A fender bender was reported on Chetco Avenue in front of Sterling Bank. Information between parties was exchanged.

Illegal burn, 11:02 a.m.: A fire was reported behind Riverside Market. Brookings Fire Department checked the location and found it was all wood from a deck and there was nothing illegal. 

Theft of services, 11:50 a.m.: A civil complaint was received regarding water rights between neighbors on Brown Deer Lane. 

Abandoned vehicle, 2:37 p.m.: Police received a report of dilapidated vehicle parked in the 400 block of Linden Lane for several weeks. An officer attempted contact with registered owner. 

Criminal trespass, 3:17 p.m.: A woman caught a man looking in her windows in the 600 block of Hassett Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 4:16 p.m.: A citizen reported a suspicious vehicle at Midland Way and  Hassett Street. An officer found a man with a gas can refueling the car which had run out of gas. 

Theft, 8:22 p.m.: A gray Huffy bicycle with a rusty chain was stolen off a porch in the 500 block of Fir Street. 

Wednesday, Dec. 12 

Unknown problem, 12:52 a.m.: A 911 caller in the 97800 block of South Bank Chetco River Road wanted to know what to do for his brother regarding a medical issue, but refused ambulance response several  times. He also refused to give his location then hung up. On callback, he repeated that he did not want an ambulance and hung up again. 

Criminal trespass, 6:23 a.m.: 500 block of Fir Street. 

Injury vehicle accident, 10:41 a.m.: 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Theft, 11:02 a.m.: 400 block of Azalea Park Road. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:45 a.m.: 500 block of Fir Street. 

Attempt to locate, 4:15 p.m.: A person was reported missing up the Winchuck River. The person was located and returned home in the 99300 block of Winchuck River Road. 

Suspicious conditions, 5:06 p.m.: A citizen reported a suspicious man in the 800 block of Elk Drive. 

Fight, 5:28 p.m.: A dispute was reported in the 15900 block of Carson Lane. 

Missing person, 5:20 p.m.: 900 block of Parkview Drive. 

Suspicious conditions, 6:16 p.m.: Hassett  Street toward Kevin Place. 

Suspicious conditions, 6:44 p.m.: A citizen reported a suspicious vehicle on Shorewood Terrace. The driver was resting. 

Shots fired, 7:18 p.m.: A citizen reported possible shots fired in the county. Another caller reporting shots fired in the 200 block of Marine Drive. 

Fight, 10:17 p.m.:A verbal dispute was reported in the 17600 block of Thompson Road.

Thursday, Dec. 13

Incomplete call, 1:55 a.m.: A caller reported she was in the bathroom at Harbor Shell and someone was trying to open the door.

Found property, 9:57 a.m.: Dog tags found in the forest were reunited with their owner in the 700 block of Fourth Street.

Criminal mischief, 10:13 a.m.: A traffic sign that was broken at one of the viewpoints along Highway 101 will be repaired by ODOT.

Harassment, 1:46 p.m.: A New York resident was being harassed on Facebook by someone in Brookings.

Hit and run, 4:45 p.m.: Fred Meyer parking lot.

Theft, 4:50 p.m.: 1000 block of Easy Street.

Forgery/fraud/bad check, 5:16 p.m.: 300 block of Tanbark Road.

Fight, 6:26 p.m.: West Benham Lane.

Criminal mischief, 6:42 p.m.: 15900 block of Pelican Bay Drive.

Suspicious conditions, 8:01 p.m.: An upstairs tenant in the 500 block of Fifth Street heard loud banging in the offices below. The janitorial service was contacted.

Suspicious conditions, 11:42 p.m.: A car parked on Ransom Avenue between Kevin Place and Fern Avenue was damaged in a possible hit and run accident.
