Friday, Nov. 30 

Violation of city ordinance, 5:41 a.m.: A person was possibly living in a storage unit in the 200 block of Wharf Street. 

Criminal mischief, 1:13 p.m.:  Strings of lights were damaged at Azalea Park. 

DUII, 3:36 p.m.: An intoxicated person left a local business in a vehicle. An officer was able to locate vehicle in a parking lot in the 800 block of Chetco Ave.  and arrest the driver. 

Driving complaint, 3:46 p.m.: A caller reported a reckless driver at Highway 101 and Carpenterville Road. 

Animal complaint, 9:04 p.m.: A black Lab was running at large on Memory Lane. 

Disorderly conduct, 10:13 p.m.: Police received a report of man walking in middle of the highway in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. He was contacted and warned for disorderly conduct. 

Tree down, 10:46 p.m.: A tree had fallen and was blocking the southbound lanes of Highway 101 just south of Whaleshead. 

Saturday, Dec. 1 

Suspicious conditions, 2:12 a.m.: An officer found a highly intoxicated man laying face down on the sidewalk at Ransom and Fern avenues. The man declined a cab to assist taking him to his residence located in the county.

DUII, 5:39 a.m.: A 20-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue. His 23-year-old passenger was arrested for a Curry County warrant and transported to Curry County Jail.  

Burglary, 7:06 a.m.: A break-in was reported at a weapons supply store in the 15600 block of Highway 101. 

Found property, 8:05 a.m.: A backpack full of school work and books was found on Richard Street. The owner was contacted. 

Incomplete call, 10:59 a.m.: Upon callback, a person advised he was working on his vehicle and it caught fire in the 500 block of Ransom Avenue. He was able to put the fire out himself and did not need fire response. 

Criminal mischief, 1:15 p.m.: Valve stems were cut off two front tires of a passenger vehicle parked in the 300 block of Matot Street. 

Harassment, 4:28 p.m.: A citizen claimed he was being harassed on a daily basis by four youths in a cream-colored Honda. 

Burglary, 4:51 p.m.: 1200 block of Easy Street. 

Harassment, 7:38 p.m.: A person in the police department lobby requested an officer contact two other people and counsel them. 

Harassment, 8:40 p.m.: A person was cited for harassment in the Brookings Police Department lobby. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:16 p.m.: A transient left his backpack lying in front of the doors of a business in the 300 block of Fifth Street. Concerned employees requested officer to check the backpack. No identification was found among its contents to locate an owner. The contents were barbeque sauce and a bag of chips. 

Tree down, 11:18 p.m.: Winchuck River Road, milepost 3.5. 

Sunday, Dec. 2

Strangulation, 6 a.m.: 200 block of Cypress Street. 

Unlawful vehicle entry, 8:43 a.m.: 1700 block of Arch Lane. 

Forgery/fraud/bad check, 10:19 a.m.: 500 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Unlawful entry into a vehicle, 11:22 a.m.: 1000 block of Easy Street. 

Unlawful vehicle entry, noon: Entry into a car was made through the back hatch in the 400 block of Arnold Lane. 

Misuse of 911, 1:22 p.m.: An adult woman called 911 to get the phone number for Ferndale, Calif., police. She was asked to call on a non-emergency line for the information. 

Unlawful vehicle entry, 1:38 p.m.: 1100 block of Fifield Street. 

Unlawful vehicle entry, 1:51 p.m. Two unlocked vehicles were entered in the 600 block of Easy Manor Drive. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 5:44 p.m.: A citizen reported he was in a ditch on Marina Heights Drive. Officers found him down over the embankment. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:44 p.m.: A trespasser in a duplex currently being renovated in the 800 block of Limbaugh Way turned out to be one of the workers, who left at property manager’s request. 

Criminal mischief, 10:06 p.m.: A citizen reported someone threw an apple at the window of his residence in the 900 block of Helen Lane. 

Criminal trespass, 10:24 p.m.: An adult man was removed from a business in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Minor in possession of liquor, 11:10 p.m.: Minors were found at a party where alcohol was being served in the 500 block of Fir Street. 

Monday, Dec. 3 

Suspicious conditions, 1:21 a.m.: A man behaving oddly outside of a business in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue was making employees uncomfortable. Officers responded and directed the man to leave the area, which he did. 

Unlawful entry of vehicle, 8:11 a.m.: The theft of an iPod from vehicle was reported in the 600 block of Easy Manor Drive. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:31 a.m.: Officers checked on an adult man who was sitting near a business at Railroad and Fifth Street holding a rag to his head as if he needed medical assistance. It turned out he was eating. 

Incomplete call, 10:26 a.m.: Dispatch received 14, 911 calls from a cell phone with a 321 prefix. Police were unable to leave a message or contact the owner. 

Fight, 11:08 a.m.: Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 17200 block of Mountain Drive. 

Water problem, 12:37 p.m.: 400 block of Buena Vista Loop. 

Intoxicated subject, 1:07 p.m.: A Curry Public Transit driver attempted to reach Port Orford Police regarding an intoxicated customer causing problems at Ray’s Food Place. 

Dispute, 1:16 p.m.: A civil problem over a well on Brown Deer Lane was transferred to Curry County Sheriff’s Office. 

Criminal mischief, 4:31 p.m.: Two vehicles at Azalea Park were hit with something. An officer responded for a report of damage to the windshield on one of the cars. 

Criminal mischief, 5:08 p.m.: Juveniles were cited for criminal mischief after causing damage to the manger in Azalea Park. 

Illegal dumping, 5:15 p.m.: Someone dumped garbage on Redwood Road off Peavine Ridge Road.

Criminal mischief, 5:08 p.m.: Azalea Park lights were unplugged; however no damage was done. 

Shots fired, 10:45 p.m.: Shots were heard on South Bank Chetco River Road near Mt. Emily Road.
