Friday, Nov. 23 

Suspicious conditions, 8:53 a.m.: Highway 101, milepost 361.5.

Suspicious conditions, 9:35 a.m.: 200 block of Memory Lane. 

Injury vehicle accident, 12:26 p.m.: Chetco Avenue and Parkview Drive. 

Criminal mischief, 1:48 p.m.: 500 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Warrant service, 4:08 p.m.: A person with a warrant was arrested in the 500 block of Arnold Lane. 

Forgery/fraud/bad check, 4:13 p.m.: A  Western Union scam was reported in the 17300 block of Holmes Drive. 

Violation of city ordinance, 4:53 p.m.: A caller in the 200 block of Cedar Street reported his dog was bitten by another dog. 

Fire: Coos Forest Patrol responded to the report of brush fire on South Bank Chetco River Road. it was found to be a contained debris burn.

Water problem, 5:51 p.m.: A water main break was reported in the 700 block of Second Street. 

Possession of drugs, A driver was warned for improper display of registration when stopped at Chetco Avenue and Easy Street. One of the passengers was cited for possession of less than an ounce and paraphernalia was seized. 

Saturday, Nov. 24

Fight, 12:38 a.m.: A caller advised he could hear a dispute between a male and female at a residence near his in the 200 block of Cypress Street.

DUII, 1:37 a.m.: An adult underage subject was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants at Chetco Avenue and Fifth Street. 

Found property, 7:48 a.m.: Reported to Brookings Police Department. 

Threats, 9:23 a.m.: A caller reported threats were made to him by neighbor in the 500 block of Pine Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 10:39 a.m.: A caller advised that either smoke or steam was coming from business in the 500 block of Fifth Street. Brookings Fire Department confirmed it was just steam. 

Fight, 10:50 a.m.: 900 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Harassment, 11:11 a.m.: A caller in the 400 block of Alder Street reported another man made a threatening remark to him. 

Animal complaint, 1:13 p.m.: A male chocolate lab with a shock collar was found in the 800 block of Pioneer Road. 

Harassment, 2:42 p.m.: A harassment issue between two men walking across the Chetco River bridge was reported. 

Assist outside agency, 9:45 p.m.: A fight on Chilcote Lane was reported with several youths bleeding. The call was transferred to Curry County Sheriff’s Office, and they requested a Brookings Police Department unit to assist the deputy. An Oregon State Police trooper assisted also. Approximately 30 people were at the location – several were given citations. 

Sunday, Nov. 25

Disorderly conduct, 4:11 a.m.: A man was going into patient rooms at a residential  care home in the 700 block of Elk Drive claiming to be looking for an employee. He was asked to leave and went to a vehicle in the parking lot. When he was contacted by an officer, he denied having been inside the building. 

Suspicious conditions, 5:48 p.m.: A man was arrested for disorderly conduct and drug possession in the 97900 block of Shopping Center Avenue. 

Disabled vehicle, 9:19 p.m.: An officer stopped to assist a disabled motorist. This car had a dead battery and the driver had help on the way. The officer put out a flare to help with visibility, Chetco Avenue and Dawson Road. 

Fight, 9:30 p.m.: A citizen came into the lobby to request a welfare check on her friend because while they were on the phone together, the boyfriend stated he was going to kill the woman. Officers consulted the parties, and all was OK by the time the officers departed.  

Suspicious conditions, 11:43 p.m.: A fisherman offshore from Harris Beach reported someone on the beach was shining a green laser light into his wheelhouse. An officer checked Harris Beach to Lone Ranch Beach and was unable to locate the source of the light. 

Monday, Nov. 26 

Criminal mischief, 11:22 a.m.: An adult man was cited for disorderly conduct after breaking an interior door at the Chetco Community Public Library. 

Information, 12:02 p.m.: An officer contacted a man at at Pacific Avenue and Railroad Street attempting to break into a car. The car belonged to his girlfriend. 

Theft, 12:28 p.m.: A license plate stolen off a citizen’s car parked in the 300 block of Fifth Street was entered as stolen and reported to the DMV. 

Suspicious conditions, 2:35 p.m.: A man was removed from private property in the 500 block of Pine Street. 

Fight, 3:58 p.m.: A call regarding a dispute in the 16100 block of Gustafson Lane was transferred to Curry County Sheriff’s Office.  

Fire, 5:04 p.m.:  A citizen reported seeing what may be a fire in a field. Harbor Fire Department advised it was an after-hours controlled burn on Holly Lane. 

Assist public, 9:12 p.m.: Man hit an elk on Highway 101 in Smith River and was referred to California Highway Patrol for followup.
