Friday, Nov. 9 

Animal complaint, 2:31 a.m.: An officer drove by the county dog pen on Railroad Street and discovered a dog with out-of-state tags that had been placed inside and not reported to the police department. The officer provided the dog with a blanket due to the cold weather and fresh water, then notified the animal shelter. 

Suspicious conditions, 7:40 a.m.: A caller advised of a blue vehicle that had been parked for three days near Thomas Creek Bridge. 

Animal complaint, 8:21: While the dog in the pen on Railroad Street was awaiting transport to the Curry County Animal Shelter, the owner showed up and was reunited.  

Suspicious conditions, 9:09 a.m.: A caller reported her vehicle, in front of her house in the 300 block of Railroad Street, appears to have blood on it. 

Violation of city ordinance, 10:22 a.m.:  The owner of a business in the 600 block of Memory Lane found an arrow had  been shot into one of the building’s exterior walls. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:18 a.m.: 900 block of Marina Heights Road. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 11:23 a.m.:  Three 911 calls regarding a traffic crash across the border in California were received and transferred to California Highway Patrol.

Theft, 2:47 p.m.: A bike was taken from Azalea Park and the owner saw it in the possession of two young boys who will be contacted by the police. 

Fire, 5:23 p.m.: Brookings Fire Department responded to the area west of Gardner Ridge. It was a controlled burn. 

Suspicious conditions, 5:44 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle pulled in behind the caller’s residence near the garage in the 900 block of Marina Heights Road. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:49 p.m.: Call transferred to Curry County Sheriff’s Office. 

Fight, 11:54 p.m.: A verbal dispute was reported in the 800 block of Fawn Drive. The parties agreed to separate for the evening. 

Saturday, Nov. 10 

Criminal trespass, 12:08 a.m.: A person was trespassing at a business in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue. The business  owner declined to press charges. The person was warned not to return. 

Threats, 8:15 a.m.: 700 block of Second Street. 

Lost property, 10:57 a.m.: A wallet was lost in Brookings. 

Unauthorized use of a vehicle, 3:45 p.m.: 800 block of Fawn Drive. 

Criminal trespass, 5:34 p.m.: A caller reported he came home from work to find that his door had been kicked in. An officer took report and cited two subjects, who arrived later, for criminal trespass at the location in the 700 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Fight, 6:18 p.m.: 15500 block of Cedar Lane. 

Assist outside agency, 9:25 p.m.: Police assisted the Curry County Sheriff’s Department with a vehicle search on traffic stop in Harbor. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. 

Criminal mischief, 10:58 p.m.: A vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 300 block of Chetco Avenue had been silly-stringed and shave-creamed. An officer contacted the owner, who said this was a prank done by friends. 

Hazard, 11:46 p.m.: A vehicle was partially sticking out into the roadway in the 400 block of Arnold Lane. An officer made contact with registered owner who moved the vehicle to a safer location. 

Sunday, Nov. 11

DUII, 1:27 a.m. Spruce Street and Linden Lane.

Suspicious conditions, 1:31 p.m.: A resident came home to find a screen removed from a window in the 800 block of Fawn Drive. 

Fight, 6:05 p.m.: A verbal dispute between a couple was reported in the 500 block of Hassett Street. 

Assist public, 6:53 p.m.: A resident was bothered by a neighbor who keeps coming over, looking through her window and banging on her door in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue. 

Monday, Nov. 12 

Burglary, 7:34 a.m.: An officer took a report of a burglary at a business in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Fire, 8:32 a.m.: A caller was concerned about a large fire that was a controlled burn at the state line. 

Criminal mischief, 12:42 p.m.: Gas was reported stolen in the 500 block of Chetco Lane. 

Tree down, 4:11 p.m.: Several calls were received reporting a tree down in the 98800 block of North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Fight, 4:11 p.m.: A citizen reported a few people appear as if they are going to start fighting at Fifth Street and Ransom Avenue. Police advised it was a misunderstanding and the people will go their separate ways. 

Fight, 6:53 p.m.: A citizen reported her boyfriend is trashing the house in the 16100 block of Gustafson Lane. 

Water problem, 7:11 p.m.: 98500 block of Thomas Lane. 

Attempt to locate, 10:48 p.m.: A woman who was not from the area reported her son left two hours ago and hasn’t returned. A Brookings police officer located the boy and returned him to his mother in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Criminal mischief, 11:05 p.m.: Vehicle scratched in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue.
