Tuesday, Nov. 6 

Fight, 12:36 a.m.: A police sergeant gave approval for a city officer to back up a county deputy on physical dispute in the 98100 block of West Benham Lane. IPH Security arrived as well and said they were at location, releasing Brookings unit to return to the city.  

Suspicious conditions, 7:01 a.m.: A citizen reported seeing flames on a hillside. It was controlled burn in the Harbor hills. 

Non-injury traffic crash, 7:55 a.m.: A two vehicle accident was reported at Alder Street and Chetco Avenue. An officer and medical unit responded, but the victim refused treatment. 

Assist public, 10:56 a.m.: Brookings Fire Department responded to check on an open burn on Harris Beach. Because of complaints of excessive smoke, the fire was extinguished. 

Non-injury traffic crash, 1:52 p.m.: A Brookings resident reported that an elk struck her vehicle while she was driving through Smith River. California Highway Patrol directed her to Brookings Police Department for a courtesy report and photos for insurance purposes. 

Hazard, 3:25 p.m.: Oregon Department of Transportation was notified that the traffic light at Highway 101 and North Bank Chetco River Road blinking all around. 

Fight, 4:20 p.m.: A citizen reported hearing what  sounded like a slap and then a female screaming in the 400 block of Fir Street. An officer located two juveniles in the area who told him they had been horsing around. 

Shots fired, 11:18 p.m.: While officers were on a call at Harris Beach Rest Area, a nearby citizen reported having heard a loud boom and was concerned that it might have been a gunshot. Officers had observed a large firework during this time.

Wednesday, Nov. 7  

Fight, 1:38 p.m.:  A report of a disorderly male in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue was handled by officers. 

Prowler, 1:44 a.m.: A report of possible prowler in the 17800 block of Aqua Vista Lane was handled by a deputy. 

Suspicious conditions, 7:01 a.m.: 911 calls received for a potential fire was a controlled  burn. 

Criminal mischief, 9:27 a.m.: Vandalism was done to, and planters also taken from, the front of a business in the 600 block of Fleet Street. 

Theft of services, 11 a.m.: A lock was broken on a trash bin in the 500 block of Willow Street.  

Intoxicated subject, 2:49 p.m.: Port of Brookings Harbor. 

Suspicious conditions, 3:52 p.m.: A person was concerned about a vehicle that had damage to the passenger side and windshield and may have blood on it. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle reported in the 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 6:04 p.m.: A suspicious person was loitering on property had left on a quad to a house down the road in the 15900 block of Highway 101. 

Juvenile problem, 6:35 p.m.: 800 block of Elk Drive.

Fight, 8 p.m.: 300 block of Alder Street. 

Fight, 8:53 p.m.: The report of a dispute in the 97800 block of Court Street was referred to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

Thursday, Nov. 8

Alarm, 12:08 a.m.: An officer checking on an alarm in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue ordered one person to leave the premises.

Fight, 5:24 a.m.: A sheriff’s deputy was sent to the report of a man and woman in a physical dispute in the 97800 block of Court Street.

Criminal mischief, 8:22 p.m.: Juveniles damaged property at a residence on Memory Lane. The property owner will make a civil compromise with the juveniles.

Transient information, 1:51 p.m.: A transient was asked to leave a business in the 600 block of Memory Lane and the transient became agitated. Police were unable to locate the person and advised the business owner to call if he returns.

Criminal mischief, 3:23 p.m.: A slashed tired was reported in the 400 block of Pine Street.

Threats, 9:41 p.m.: 97800 block of Court Street.
