Monday, Oct. 15 

Tree down, 10:53 a.m.: A tree fell into the lane of traffic north of Harris Beach. 

Driving complaint, 12:16 p.m.: Agencies were notified of an unlicensed driver heading toward town from the 98300 block of East Cougar Lane.  

Suspicious conditions, 1:12 p.m.: An open door checked, 17200 block of South Passley Road. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 2:14 p.m.: A dump truck overturned two miles up South Bank Chetco River Road. No injuries were reported. 

Theft, 2:34 p.m.: A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the Mill  Beach parking area. 

Hazard, 3:54 p.m.: A power line was down on Highway 101 near Indian Road. The call was transferred to the Del Norte Sheriff’s Office. 

Suspicious vehicle, 5:25 p.m.: Redwood and Oak streets. 

Water problem, 5:38 p.m.: Brookings area. 

Hit and run, 6:58 p.m.: A fight between boyfriend and girlfriend at Miller Bar resulted in the female choosing to walk downriver. She was reportedly “clipped” by a dark-colored Toyota, then was transported by a good Samaritan to a medical center for treatment. Information was forwarded to Curry County Sheriff Office.

Criminal mischief, 10:33 p.m.: A citizen reported a white truck took off after the caller heard a loud bang about a block away in the 500 block of Spruce Street. A broken beer bottle was found. 

Criminal mischief, 10:53 p.m.: Citizen called 911 reporting that someone had just swerved their vehicle into his trash can, tipping it over purposefully. Caller was transferred to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

Fight, 12:37 a.m.: A dispute between a father and son in the 98000 block of Hall Way resulted in one of the men being transported to Curry General Hospital.

Animal complaint, 5:03 a.m.: An ongoing dog-barking problem was reported in the 96500 block of Susan Place.

Criminal mischief, 8:34 a.m.: A citizen reported someone had thrown a beer bottle at the the house during the night in the 400 block of Buena Vista Loop.

Criminal mischief, 9:49 a.m.: A resident in the 300 block of Oxford Street reported someone had broken a beer bottle in the street and driveway, dumped cigarette butts in the lawn and removed a political sign.

Warrant service, 11:23 a.m.: An adult male was arrested for a Curry County warrant in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

Found property, 12:13 p.m.: A wallet belonging to a Crescent City resident was found and returned to its owner.

Animal complaint, 2:43 p.m.: A citizen found a pug with painted toenails running at large on Elk Drive. The citizen said she would keep the dog until someone claimed it.

Shots fired, 5:07 p.m.: 16800 block of Marine Drive.

Theft, 5:15 p.m.: Two people were arrested in the 300 block of Fifth Street.

Driving complaint, 5:31 p.m.: Two callers reported an intoxicated driver on Highway 101 near milepost 355. Another caller reported driver was passing Benham Lane. The driver was last spotted pulling into a business across the state line. California Highway Patrol was notified.

Criminal mischief, 5:45 p.m.: A bottle was thrown at a pickup canopy in the 300 block of Oxford Street.

Illegal burn, 6:42 p.m.: A citizen reported someone burning plastic on Donalds Road. The resident removed the plastic when advised by Brookings Fire Department.

Driving complaint, 8 p.m.: 500 block of Fir Street.

Suspicious conditions, 11:48 p.m.: An intoxicated man was walking through Azalea Park on his way home.

Animal complaint, 11:43 p.m.: A severely injured deer was reported on McVay Lane.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

Suspicious conditions, 1:17 a.m.: 98000 block of Gerlach Lane.

Animal complaint, 7:35 a.m.: A dead  racoon was picked up by public works in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue.

Transient, 8:40 a.m.: A transient sleeping on property int he 800 block of Railroad Street was told to leave.

Theft, 8:53 a.m.: A stolen item was given to someone who then pawned it for cash in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue.

Non-injury traffic crash, 11:39 a.m.: Two vehicles collided near the launch ramps at the Port of Brookings Harbor.

Child neglect, 12:09 p.m.: A small child was found wandering near First Street and Ransom Avenue. The girl was returned to her family.

Lost property, 3:21 p.m.: A black iPhone was lost.

Harassment, 4:08 p.m.: A resident in the 700 block of First Street reported her neighbor looks in her windows and harasses her.

DUII, 6:14 p.m.: A driver was arrested at First Street and Ransom Avenue and transported to Curry County Jail.

Suspicious conditions, 8:20 p.m.: 98300 block of East Cougar Lane.

Criminal mischief, 10:59 p.m.: A citizen in the 1000 block of Ransom Avenue reported a vehicle knocked down her trash can. An officer found several other trash cans in the surrounding areas. The vehicle’s driver was cited.

Thursday, Oct. 18

Fight, 8:38 a.m.: A dispute between parents and a stepson in the 15600 block of Highway 101 ended in an arrest.

Driving complaint, 10:18 a.m.: A driver reported road rage by another driver on the Chetco River bridge.

Non-injury traffic crash, 10:49 a.m.: A two-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 101 near Lone Ranch Beach.

Animal complaint, 2:58 p.m.: A small puppy was running in traffic in the 300 block of Higway 101.

Harassment, 3:09 p.m.: A resident reported Internet harassment.

Driving complaint, 3:34 p.m.: 600 block of Pioneer Road.

Found property, 3:52 p.m.: Property found in the 200 block of King Street was returned to its owner.

Assist public, 4:01 p.m.: An elderly woman was found wandering and confused in the 15700 block of Highway 101. She was returned to her residence.

Criminal trespassing, 4:30 p.m.: A woman in the 700 block of First Street reported a person had entered her neighbor’s house. Police found the person had permission to be there.
