Wednesday, May 23

Possession of marijuana, 2:05 a.m.: California Highway Patrol informed Oregon State Police that a northbound vehicle was possibly carrying marijuana. A trooper saw the vehicle was speeding near the Chetco River bridge and stopped it. All three occupants from Crescent City were found in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and cited. The trooper was assisted by a Curry County sheriff’s deputy and a Brookings police officer.

Thursday, May 24

Hazard, no time listed: Debris was removed from the roadway on Highway 101 near Elk River.

Friday, May 25

Probation violation, no time listed: A 40-year-old woman, who was the passenger in a vehicle pulled over a mile north of Port Orford, was found to be wanted on two Curry County warrants charging probation violation and interferring with making a report. The woman was cited and released because of a medical condition.  

Assist motorist, 7:24 p.m.: A trooper helped a motorist whose car was broken down on Highway 101 five miles north of Gold Beach. The vehicle was towed.

Assist motorist, 11:20 p.m.: A trooper stood by until a motorist’s broken-down car could be towed from near the Winchuck River.  

Sunday, May 27

Agency assist, 1:30 p.m.: A trooper helped Curry County Sheriff’s Office rescue a missing person who was involved in a traffic accident  on Edson Creek Road.  

Monday, May 28

Warrant service, 5:48 p.m.: A 38-year-old Brookings man was arrested on Highway 101 near Arch Rock Butte for a Jackson County warrant charging probation violation. He was found with less than an ounce of marijuana and identity property belonging to another person. Statements made were relayed to Brookings Police Department  for an identity theft investigation.

Warrant service, 8:30 p.m.: A 39-year-old woman violated her probation after she was found in a bar. During the investigation she attempted to elude police on foot near the Rogue River bridge. She was found laying in the brush and transported to Curry County Jail and held without bail.
