Friday, May 4

Injury traffic crash, 4:10 p.m.: A 21-year-old driver from Hoquiam, Wash., was northbound on Highway 101 approaching Euchre Creek when the pickup he was driving drifted off the roadway into the bushes. He was treated and released at the scene for a head injury. His 19-year-old passenger from Los Angeles was uninjured.

Saturday, May 5

Fugitive apprehended, 2:25 a.m.: A 30-year-old man was taken into custody in the 98100 block of West Benham Lane on warrants from Oakland County, Mich., and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Sunday, May 6

Warrant service, 7:12 p.m.: A 20-year-old was arrested in the 18800 block of Cornett Road for a Benton County warrant.

Monday, May 7

Warrant service, 7:04 p.m.: A 26-year-old man was arrested following a traffic stop at Pacific and Fern avenues for a probation violation warrant.

 Wednesday, May 9

Warrant service, 10:43 a.m.: A 30-year-old Brookings man was arrest at the Port of Brookings Harbor for warrants issued in Curry and Josephine counties. 

Agency assist, 2:24 p.m.: A trooper assisted a Curry County sheriff’s deputy in taking a combative suspect into custody after he destoyed a sign on Zimmerman Lane. The suspect also head-butted the trunk of an OSP patrol car and kicked out a reflector on the sheriff’s patrol car.

Assault, 11:31 p.m.: Two female transients, 37 and 32, were reported fighting at Highway 101 and Zimmerman Lane. The 32-year-old refused to press charges; however the 37-year-old was arrested for disorderly conduct, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and a warrant that included a no-alcohol clause and no contact with a 45-year-old woman who was at the scene.

Thursday, May 10

Disabled motorist, 5:25 p.m.: With assistance from another motorist, a trooper changed a flat tire on an elderly couples van on Highway 101 near Winchuck River Road.

Friday, May 11

Intoxicated subject, 9:37 p.m.: A citizen reported an intoxicated man stumbling into travel lanes between Hoffeldt Lane and the Chetco River bridge. A Curry County sheriff’s deputy in the area checked the location and was unable to locate the man

Monday, May 14

Warrant service, 6:39 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 94200 block of June Lane in Gold Beach for a probation violation warrant.

Tuesday, May 15

Theft, 3:40 p.m.: A duffel bag containing personal equipment and state equipment was taken from an ODOT dump truck parked on Highway 101 near Cape Ferrelo Road between 9:30  and 10 a.m. Estimate value of the stolen property is around $250.

Wednesday, May 16

Non-injury traffic crash, no time listed: A 23-year-old driver was northbound on Highway 101 and was going too fast while attempting a right turn onto Sixes River Road. He struck a front corner of a commercial truck coming to a stop, causing the truck to veer off the roadway into the ditch and a utility pole. The driver of the truck was a 59-year-old from Coos Bay.
