Readers’ Choice: Did your favorite win?

By The Curry Coastal Pilot March 27, 2012 10:49 pm

Do you have a favorite restaurant? A place to buy books, food or jewelry? What about your favorite place to take a date? A hike? Watch the waves?

More than 1,500 readers answered those questions, casting votes for choices in 54 categories in the Pilot’s annual Readers’ Choice awards. The results are published in a special section in today’s issue.

There are quite a number of surprises, with several new businesses knocking long-standing champs out of first place. There were also some very close races, with first and second place separated by only a few votes. But no more spoilers. Read the section and see for yourself.

Is Readers’ Choice a popularity contest? You bet!

It’s fun for readers, and it’s a chance for local businesses to shine.

Tabulating and presenting the results is no easy feat, with Pilot and Del Norte Triplicate employees doing the work. Reporters for both papers spent hours interviewing winners and writing copy for the section. Advertising personnel worked closely with clients to promote their products and service to potential customers.

Readers’ Choice is truly a community effort – one that is very important during these challenging economic times.

We thoroughly enjoyed doing Readers’ Choice. We congratulate all the winners and we offer a big “Thank You” to all the readers who voted.

Let’s do it again next year!
