Del Syvertson Horel Wright Carmichael

Del Syvertson Horel Wright Carmichael, 81, of Brookings, passed away March 17, 2012, in Gold Beach. 

She was born April 1, 1930, in Eureka, Calif. 

Del spent her childhood years in Blue Lake, Calif., attended Arcata High School, in Calif., and lived in Eureka, Calif., until moving to West Sacramento, Calif., in 1956.  

Always the first to volunteer, Del was a founding member and Past President of the West Sacramento Soroptimist International Club, delivered Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at the Raley’s Senior Gold Rush Tournament and Sacramento Jazz Festival. She will be greatly missed by all.

Del is survived by sons Robert (Kathy) Horel of Brookings, and Donald (Michelle) Horel of Palm Desert, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her brothers Alfred, Robert and George Syvertson; sister Marie Donahue; husbands Robert Horel, Bill Wright, and Chuck Carmichael; and sons Lawrence and Kenneth Horel. 

A Celebration of Del’s Life will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 31, at Community Lutheran Church, 920 Devor St., West Sacramento. A reception will follow in the church hall.
